Art Alive, LLC

Helping others tap into their relaxed side to heal and find their ‘happy place’, has always been a passion of Christine’s. Massage is a wonderful vehicle for this, and now she finds that acrylic artwork is as well!

Beautiful, Minnesota forest and hobby-farming scenes are what occupy space on her easel the most. Sharing a crafting space with her husband, Marty, is a favorite past-time, especially during the long MN Winters. She paints, while he crafts fishing lures of all kinds.

Below is a sampling of some of Christine’s artworks as well as links where you can purchase prints of them if they move you to do so. You may also talk with Christine directly for questions on available originals and print products on hand… artalivebychristine@yahoo.com 1(320) 309-4053

‘Art of Healing Family Massage’
by Christine Nordquist – Acrylic Impasto

This is the painting that re-ignited Christine’s passion for creating art. She had an idea of what how she felt about her massage business would look like, but didn’t know quite how to explain it to her brother, Bill (her favorite original artist). So, she set out on a quest to learn how to paint her idea herself! This visual comes pretty close. The colors of the chakras are all over this painting: from roots up through the branches of the tree (like energy moving through the human body), as well as from ground to sky in the background. The waxing moon represents personal, ongoing growth and learning; the falling star represents dreams and wishes; mountains hold a masculine energy; flowing river holds feminine energy. It’s all about balance, life and living openly, in full color.

“Letting Go” by Christine Nordquist

The original painting is on a 24×36” canvas in Acrylic Impasto style mediums. This painting was inspired first by an old pile of wood, that sits by a campsite in our backyard. We often hear coyotes howling from this area behind our house. Their sound makes the hair on the back of our necks stand in alertness everytime! As this painting developed, it took on a surprisingly emotional element. Even the flowers and mushrooms had to get in on the action.

The original painting is available for purchase at Art Alive, LLC office. Other prints are available in person as well as online.

“Blue Jays” by Christine Nordquist

Original on 18×24” canvas in Acrylic Impasto style. My original idea for this painting was for the birds to be sitting in the middle of many branches, infront of a beautiful, snowy sunset. Sometime the canvas has other ideas. As this one came together, layer after layer for the background, a different style of depth emerged. It felt good and I went with it. In the end, less is more with the branches, and the Blue Jays still ended up stealing the show, as I hoped they would.

Original available for purchase in person. Print available in person and online.

“Mossy Tree” by Christine Nordquist – 2022 Acrylic 24.36″ Canvas

“Mossy Tree” was created in the late Autumn of 2022. With the onset of Winter coming Christine knew she’d need to have something green and fresh around to remind her of cozy, warm forest times to come again, once the snow melted. Find a fun Mossy Tree tote bag, Mossy Tree coasters and wall-hanging prints here.

“Tenacious Life”
by Christine Nordquist 2022 Acrylic Impasto on 24×36″ Canvas

“Inspired by an anonymous picture online (thank you to whomever posted this), “Tenacious Life” reminds me of nature’s acceptance of where ever it finds itself to be, and it’s determination to thrive to the fullest. The original painting was gifted to my sister-in-law, Erin. But I love it so much, I found a way to get prints! and share them with you (through Etsy and in person). You can find them here.” ~ Christine

“River Treasures” by Christine Nordquist – Acrylic Impasto

” “River Treasures” tugs at my heart strings. It’s full of nostalgia of times spent trolling down the river, fishing, contemplating life, seeing ‘dead heads’ like this one floating in the water. Nature often has a beautiful way of recycling life over and over.” ~ Christine
