Rice Experiment

Rice Experiment (and side-experiment) Week 7

Holding Steady! Love Rice is still very sticky, with a pinkish color; perhaps slightly deeper pink this week than last. Hate Rice continues to be fluffy and white, showing some signs of stickiness. The mold on the bottom of Indifference Rice seems to be very slow-growing, not much difference noticeable there this week.

The following stream-of-thought follows the basis of the Rice Experiment, aka, that the cooked rice is reflecting what the vibration of the water it is steeping in is doing to it…

It is said (by Dr. Masaru Emoto) that “water speaks to what is in the mind”. A reflection of our thoughts. We as humans are made up of 70% water. It is important what we think. What we think vibrates through us via all the water in us. What we vibrate is potentially felt by everything and everyone around us that also has water in it/them. What we expose ourselves to, moment-to-moment, is important and vital to not just how we feel, but to our ability to live life… If we choose to watch a horror film that leaves us feeling scared and tense, for example, we likely are not going to jump up and go out into the world to have incredible new experiences or to help out our ‘fellow man’. Instead, we’re more likely to lock all the doors and hide under the covers, if not literally, then at least in the internal feelings of tension in our body. This isn’t really a form of living life, but rather, hiding from life and living in fear. Versus, for example, if we watch an inspirational film that leaves us feeling hopeful and empowered with courage, we’re more likely to tap into our heart’s inspiration to live out our good in the world, to help and inspire others and feel good within ourselves; at least for a few hours after viewing the film anyway.

When we consciously choose on a regular basis to search out the helpful information that fuels and guides our innate sense and desire to live our lives to the fullest in integrity, health, wellbeing, happiness, kindness and all the things that tend to lift our spirits, we can create a habit of living with goodness vibrating through us. On purpose! We can create this feeling habit to be our default state of being, rather than an occasional, random experience. Our 70% water that we are made of will vibrate and reflect our choices of what we think and feel. What we’ve been choosing to re-enforce within ourselves. Just think of how wonderful of a place the world would be to live in if everyone’s default mode was positive vibration. So why not choose to re-enforce the good vibes within ourselves, rather than the bad?

Do you ruminate in frustrated thoughts? Bad experiences from the past? Depression? Anxious mental racing? It does seem to be an easy, thought-habit state to fall into unfortunately. But, you don’t have to stay in those thoughts. It takes practice to change one’s thought patterns and habits, but it is completely do-able. You can choose your experience of life. Seek out helpful resources until you find what helps you make that difference for yourself. Here are just a few resources that come to mind in this moment: Quiet Your Mind by John Selby (book), Meditation with Suzanne Skurlock from Healing From The Core (video on FB), ‘Frequency’ by Pennie Peirce, ‘I Don’t Want to Talk About It’ by Terrance Real…

It’s not uncommon for people to have negative self-talk about their various body parts. This is pretty well known. For me, my least favorite body part is my belly. It’s never fit into the repetitive cultural and media messages about ideally being flat and hard – even when I was in fabulous shape. When life gets stressful, my digestion definitely feels it and reflects it in a rounder belly with troublesome digestion. I’ve been very conscious to manage my stress and finding balance in my life over the years. Even so, some circumstances we can’t necessarily avoid – pandemics, injuries, loved ones struggling, etc., but there’s always some aspect of perspective about the stress that can be modified…

As a side experiment to the Rice Experiment, I’ve also been giving love and gratitude (L&G) vibes to my belly. Now that I’ve been doing this for a while, it seems almost silly to me that I haven’t been doing this all my adult life! Through the years, I have managed to quiet the negative thoughts about my belly, which is a big plus. But I haven’t quite fully inhabited or embraced my belly consciously until now, with this side experiment. There have been a few days here and there that I’ve forgotten to do practice this, but for the most part, I’ve been giving my belly L&G for about a minute or 2 once or twice a day and occasionally for longer at night as I’m falling asleep.

I’ve noticed, first of all, that consciously giving L&G to my belly and the organs within, makes my desire to choose to eat and drink things that are more nourishing for me much stronger. Also, if I’ve eaten something that feels heavy in my stomach or uncomfortable (like it’s going to give me heartburn or indigestion somehow), I find that holding my hand over my stomach (under my diaphragm, just left to my center line) and sending L&G inward helps soften the tension that I feel there and the heavy discomfort fades to a softer ease in my digestion and breathing. Inevitably, whenever I’m giving L&G to my belly, it gurgles in healthy response. šŸ™‚ This makes sense to me from the standpoint that anytime we come out of fight & flight mode and into relaxation mode, our digestion has a chance to ‘turn on’ fully. Certainly, turning my focus away from outside stimulus to inward attention is a method of switching fight & flight response off and relaxation response on. But even more than that, adding in L&G not just in my mind’s eye, but with the palpable energy of it being directed into a the specific area of my belly, brings the effects up a notch – or several! I can’t say that I now miraculously have a flat and hard stomach because of my intensional energy focus on it. šŸ˜‰ That wasn’t necessarily the point. But I can say, that my belly is far less round, bloated or irritable, consistently. I also can claim that I feel more connected and contented with my belly than previously with a more complete feeling to my body as a whole, from head to feet. šŸ™‚ Happily, I’ve also found that giving L&G to my whole belly, while breathing into my belly, hips and spine is a wonderfully relaxing way to fall asleep at night. šŸ™‚

So, in partial conclusion, while shining L&G onto my belly doesn’t suddenly give me a flat and hard belly to match unrealistic expectations from wherever/whomever those expectations come from, it certainly does have other, quite valuable, benefits that enhance my experience of this life from within this lovely body that I’m grateful for. šŸ™‚

I hope that the good vibes and lessons being learned from this experiment (and side experiment) are of benefit to you and others in unique ways. Until next week, abundant health and wellness to you!

WOW! That was so many and such wonderful words and thoughts to share with us. Thank you so much. Even the portions that were familiar from previous readings etc. were so purposeful to be reminded of. I know where my focus points are going to be and I will start on them today. You are so awesome.
